This archaic residence could be the oldest extant building in the docks together with Marine Merchants Guildhall from 1715 (商船会馆). It is still half-inhabited, but soon will be demolished entirely.

A little technical note. I've always been scanning my b/w negatives in a 'negative transparency' mode, and only yesterday I discovered that scanning as if they are slides and then inverting produces a much sharper image with better distribution of density. All these years I wasn't getting the most of my negatives.
