Ancient Kotex dispenser in the restroom at the City of 10,000 Buddhas in Ukiah. (It was empty.)

The brown stuff is either rust or ancient scotch tape adhesive.

Mojave/Aqueduct pomegranate tree

Mojave/Aqueduct pomegranate tree

Last fall my hubby and I went out near the aqueduct to scrounge some rocks for our yard. (We take them from the desert, not the aqueduct, which is cemented over here anyway.) Anyway, I was looking for a good size rock and saw a relatively fresh husk from a pomegranate. And then I saw the tree.

100-year-old pomegranate

100-year-old pomegranate

We discovered this old pomegranate tree growing near the LA aqueduct north of Mojave last fall. The rocks around it are cemented together to form a little water catch. We wonder if maybe there was a homestead here at one time that was knocked down by the guys who built the aqueduct.

We went searching for it this past weekend and found it. It looks a lot more green now than it did last fall.
