One of the many stunning staircases within the Art Gallery of Alberta. This one truly gave me a case of vertigo - maybe we should have tried ascending rather than descending this one. We were lucky there was sun that day to highlight the interesting mix of textures and materials. I was inrigued by the mysterious red glow on the base of the column. I have one more in this series to post.

The entrance lobby inside the Art Gallery of Alberta in Edmonton. The interior architecture was every bit as fascinating as any of the exhibits we visited that day. The chairs were actually more comfortable than they appear.

Detail of the roofline of the AGA taken last summer in Edmonton during our visit with Wade and Phil. A very photogenic building, inside and out. More to come . . .

If you are interested, the details of the history of the building can be seen here.
