Details and History
The Wikimedia Commons website offers a multitude of historical images with no restrictions on use. This circa 1878 O. Pierre Havens photo of Tu-uh-ku-mah [Black Horse; also Pako-Riah (Colt) or Ta-Peka (Sun Rays)] was taken during his imprisonment at Fort Marion from 1875-1878. The second chief and war chief of the Quahadi Comanche gained notariety during the short-lived Staked Plains war, when meager rations and confinement at the fort Sill reservation forced the tribe to send 170 warriors to hunt buffalo and make war upon white hunters.
