I took this picture just over a year ago, uploaded it, and moved on to other stuff. Then, a couple of months ago, I was playing around with old images, recomposing them in 16:9 ratios so that they'd be appropriate desktop wallpapers for my widescreen tablet and laptop. On a whim, I flipped this picture 180 degrees, and lo and behold, I liked it better.

I took a rare Saturday foray into Glasgow city centre in August. The older I get, the more I hate crowds, but a friend was doing some PR work on Buchanan Street ~ one of Scotland's busiest pedestrian throughways ~ wearing a bikini and grass skirt. That I had to see. Unfortunately she proved too elusive, but I did snap these guys. Definitely the most entertaining and photogenic buskers in town that day.

Another couple of wee screengrabs of stats milestones, for my interest mostly.

Back in June I worked with Tansy Blue on a very productive waterscapes shoot, and after uploading the resulting set of images I managed almost 3500 views in a day.

In fact, I seem to remember uploading them at about 10pm (GMT), and still managed about 1000 views that night, so I suspect that the true figure is closer to 4000-4500 hits in the first 24 hours. Either way, I think that's my personal best.

Having accumulated 100k views (Feb 2010) and 200k views (March 2011) in the past eighteen months, I've now reached a quarter of a million. Ooooooooh.

However, stooshies with the sometimes Kafka-esque Flickr staff, and fewer uploads in general, mean it might take me a while to reach 500k. So this'll probably be my last screengrab for a good few years.
