Urban working poor, Cebu City, Philippines

Children working in cities face many dangers, but helping them is particularly challenging because they move around a lot an are involved in a wide range of activities to get money. They are extremely vulnerable to violence by adults or street gangs, drug addiction, or recruitment for illegal activities such as the drugs trade.

In this photo, children are laying out fish to dry on a pier. The organisation, Bidlisiw Foundation, Inc.'s, programme for abused and exploited children reaches out to 418 children working around the area, offering HIV education and the change to re-integrate into education.

Exhibited at a child labour exhibition at the Foreign Correspondents Club of Thailand (FCCT), this photo shows subjects affected by the issue of child labour.
