soaking knob and tube knobs in vinegar hoping to clean off the smoke staining
our house had a chimney fire in the 50s and there's still plenty of evidence in the walls and ceilings. i saw a website that said they were buying up old knob and tube knobs at $2-$5 each depending on condition and these seem a little rough at the moment.
