Situated about 25 km from Jabalpur, soaring in glittering splendour, the marble rocks at Bhedaghat rise to a hundred feet on either side of the Narmada. River Narmada makes its way through narrows gorges and plunges in a waterfall known as Dhuandhar or the smoke cascade. The roar of the fall is heard from afar. The serene loveliness of the scene is one of cool quiet, the sunlight sparkling on the marble-white pinnacles and casting dappled shadows on the pellucid waters.
BhedaGhat and Dhuandhar have served as a beautiful site for shootings of hindi movies like Jis Des Mein Ganga Behti Hai, Asoka etc. The area also serves as a source of marble, the marble statues and soap stone sculptures crafted by local sculptors are famous throughout the country.
The recent addition of a rope way enables tourists to cross over to the other side and catch a breathtakingly beautiful view of the falls.
