An old school friend came for dinner last week. First time we had met up in 26 years, and she came bearing gifts. This is her father's old Leica R4 that Charlotte and her mother wanted me to have as they had enjoyed my photos so much over the last couple of years. It was great to catch up after so long and an incredible gift. Thank you Charlotte!

An old school friend came for dinner last week and brought me a gift of a Leica R4, this Summicron 90mm f/2, a 50mm f/2 and a 70-210 f/4. The roll of film was in the gadget bag,

Time was when we all used Kodak colour film as a matter of course (even though the Ektachrome always had a blue tinge). This roll of expired film (expiry date 1990) came to me last week on the very same day that Eastman Kodak filed for bankruptcy protection in the States.

This little boy came to have his photo taken this morning, and as is common with young people, he was not too impressed. We did manage to get some of him and his brother smiling, but there are a lot more with faces like this one.

However, Helen will be pleased to learn there are about 60 usable photos from the session for her to make a selection.
