Burnham Beeches 10k Run
On October 19th 2013, the Burnham Beeches Rotary Club held it's 7th annual 10km charity run in Burnham Beeches. A record number of athletes registered in advance and 190 competed on the day.
On race morning, the weather was kind, with the rain holding off until late in the proceedings. Despite this, the conditions under foot were tricky, as some trails were very muddy. This did not hold back Oliver Thwaites who was first man across the line in 36 minutes and 17 seconds. Chris Bradfield and James Silvey followed Oliver in to complete the top three.
For the women, Katie Keenan lead the field finishing in 47 minutes and 15 seconds. Emma Butcher and Kath Taylor followed quickly in second and third place.
Our Rotary Club President Neil Smith presented the certificates and prizes.
The proceeds towards Club charities are expected to be in the range of £2,500 to £3,000.
