Leica Dlux3 on A BEAK

Newer Older

Originally this rig was made for a Canon Ixus 600, was then adapted with a video return and later adapted to welcome A Leica Dlux3. Thanks to Brooks Leffler design this Rig is almost universal

This rig is Radio Controlled and actions 3 servos, 1 for Pan, 1 for tilt and 1 for a "finger" that trigers the camera.
Some other system are automatic and kind of "blind", some other system involves intervalometer.
No need for legs since the rig is in the air and if it would drop, the legs would not do much to protect the camera!
You should find a ton of info on the KAP forum at arch.ced.berkeley.edu/kap2/php/wind/discuss/ or on the KAP Shop at www.kapshop.com/ .
It's a great hobby and the KAPer community is really fun.

Mike, it's almost the same body, the same lens but with a completely different image processing software which makes a difference when compared to the lumix. I pushed it at 800 ASA without much noise. I am quite satisfied with the results.
