   in the depth of seeing
   matters of survival thrive
   and sharpen focus
   to the matters at hand
   and so becoming
   clear as crystal
   flecks of gold reflect
   a world around the depth
   illuminating the path
   as blood quickens
   its soft flow
   beauty a cold disguise
   for purposes of
   necessity
   watching in the night
   for a subtle movement
   in the brush
   and patiently waiting
   on a limb above
   begins the silent slide downward
   through the liquid dark air
   in the depth of seeing
   the objective lies there
