Aerial View of West Dummerston
The village of West Dummerston is situated snugly in a bend of the West River, at the base of Black Mountain. From this image it is readily evident how extensively forested this part of Vermont is, with only a few clearings amidst a sea of trees. Note how Route 30 snakes along the valley floor, following the same pathway carved out by the river. Far in the distance is the looming peak of Mount Ascutney.
