• I slacked off on the tree, hope it's all good to y'all.
  • The tree is my favorite part of this vig, actually :o It is simple and rather well build. - SamuraiMoose
  • This is lame - E of Alshire
  • But I like the rest. - E of Alshire
  • the remains of an alien pilot, or just roots? - JimmytheJ
  • whatever you interpret, but the most obvious answer is roots
  • My interpretation of your work is this guy's friend died here years ago when he crashed and this is a monument to the Firend. Like leaving flowers at a grave. - brithead
  • What I see here, is a jet crashed into a rock, pierced though, and ripped up a tree. That would ruin your day - tadam2455
  • 'Tis excellent, but then, anything brick-built is excellent - Darth Epic

The Great Anachronism

I have no interpretations for the surrealist vignette this time. There is no overarching theme or personal meaning. It was visualized from a mental image a year ago and depicts a spaceship stuck through a floating rock, where the tip of the ship has transformed into a tree. Perhaps you'll find some meaning, please share :D

Your surrealism always makes my head asplode.

EDIT: Forgot to add "in a good way" to that...

It doesn't seem that surreal to me...that is, unless the whole floating rock theme is surreal :P

I like how you slanted the ship through the rock, but the transition from ship to tree doesn't really satisfy.

It represents how technology is concerning nature and plant life. The rocket represents the technology striking the floating rock (Earth) and engulfing the tree which represents nature and life. On top mother nature is trying to replant flowers which will hopefully reign again. But, however it's too late. The impact technology will grow and grow causing the rock to contain no life, because nature is gone...

I just made that up! =P

Your MOC's and vigs have amazed me thus far, and this is no exception! Even if you slacked on the tree, it still fits the structure. The flow of the rocket from the rock is seamless, and genius.

    Again, nice work!

Man, you crank these out fast! I like it but agree with Dan on the ship/tree transition. The grill tiles don't seem to be working. Otherwise, it's all good.

Point taken with the transition, but it's damn near impossible to change shape, color, and direction at the same time without loosing a great deal of aesthetics.

This is Nannan's secret Halo MOC:

"a tree was killed by a rocket."

Cool! It's definitely got a "The Little Prince" kinda charm going for it, but I agree that the tree needs some refining

Great as usual. I love how there's always a meaning to your creations, even when you get to imagine your own. Very nice.

Tree? I thought it was a squid.

It looks like a space squid is eating the cockpit of the ship. Maybe put some leaves on the tree. That would make it more "tree-ish".
