~ A Leap of Faith ~

~ A Leap of Faith ~

I took this photo of a photo that was on exhibit at the conservatory about black bears...I don't know who originally took it , but I love it! ; ) BTW The bear didn't make the jump..He was too chubby; ) He almost did though!! Moral of the story you gotta have faith or like the bear, you never know until you try! ; )

Catching up slowly..Super busy!; )

I'm so happy, Daylight Daving time starts this Sunday !! Woo Hoo! ; )
The phrase "Spring forward, Fall back" helps people remember how Daylight Saving Time affects their clocks. At 2 a.m. on the second Sunday in March, we set our clocks forward one hour ahead of Standard Time ("Spring forward," even though Spring doesn't begin until late March, over a week after the start of Daylight Saving Time). We "Fall back" at 2 a.m. on the first Sunday in November by setting our clock back one hour and thus returning to Standard Time.

The change to Daylight Saving Time ostensibly allows us to use less energy in lighting our homes by taking advantage of the longer and later daylight hours. During the eight-month period of Daylight Saving Time, the names of time in each of the time zones in the U.S. (map) change as well. Eastern Standard Time (EST) becomes Eastern Daylight Time, Central Standard Time (CST) becomes Central Daylight Time (CDT), Mountain Standard Time (MST) becomes Mountain Daylight Time (MDT), Pacific Standard Time becomes Pacific Daylight Time (PDT), and so forth.

Polar Bear Splash

They finally built a new polar bear enclosure at the Como Park Zoo .. It's at my very favorite park !! ; )This park has a small zoo, kiddie rides in the summer, a beautiful conservatory filled with tropical plants and flowers, ponds, outdoor pavillion that features live music in the summer and and lake where you can rent paddle boats, a golf course and acres of beautiful land where you can have picnics or just walk ( or just sit)... Many people have their wedding photos taken there..i know you all would love it! We have a bigger zoo at another location here in the Twin Cities...

This was the first time I ventured back there to see the polar bears in years..The old exhibit for the polar bears was so small..It was depressing, the polar bear just paced back and forth...I was glad I finally went to see the new exhibit as it made me feel really happy to see the polar bear so happy and playing.. Made a big splash with me! ; )

I am a big time animal lover..I have conflicting views on zoos ...I guess if they have room to roam and they can make it look as much as their natural habitat I feel comfortable with them....Maybe the way things are now for some animals in the wild with poaching etc. some of the animals are better off in zoos... The one thing I will NEVER be comfortable with is animals in a circus... !!!
