This is a photograph that I took of a collection of eyeglasses confiscated from prisoners upon their arrival at the Auschwitz concentration camp complex in Oswiecim, Poland. The Jewish tour guide who led me through the camp granted me special permission to photograph these glasses.
The Nazi regime "recycled" these glasses and confiscated artificial limbs for use in the military.

It's funny how the round lenses look just like the round lenses of today. I guess it never went out of style.
