Today we rigged up a piece of twine in the back patio so I can make an attempt at better quilt photos. I find them very difficult to photograph well and this seems to be a good way to do it. I recommend outdoors on a sunny day, but no direct sunlight. Hanging it on the fence allowed me to get directly in front of the quilt, avoiding the crooked look.
It's still a little blurry, but at least the light is good. My camera is pretty bad at clarity when the subject is more than about 2 feet away.
