It's difficult to write something about this tradition, therefore I forward you to this link:

Atardecer sobre Montserrat, Vacarisses (E)

Atardecer sobre Montserrat, Vacarisses (E)

Canon EOS 550D with Tamron 17-50mm f:/2,8. Panorama merged in Photoshop CS5 from 10 handheld shots at f:/2,8 1/80s @37mm ISO400.

As every January the 5th we were waiting for the Magi (or Three Wise Men) parade, which this year took place almost 1½ hours earlier, so apart from the milder temperature, we could enjoy a lovely sunset. Prior to the parade we also attended a spectacle of Diables (en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball_de_diables) full of fireworks and music. Regarding the pano, practically no post-processing was carried out. Despite having bracketed the exposure, I’ve chosen the sub-exposed shots to enhance the colours in the sky…

Bryggen, Bergen (N)

Bryggen, Bergen (N)

Canon EOS 300D with Tamron 70-300mm f:/4-5,6. Panorama merged in Photoshop CS5 from 7 handheld shots at f:/6,3 1/320s @104mm.

Bergen was founded in 1070 by King Olaf Kyrre and was the Norwegian capital along two centuries. Northern Norse fishermen came to Bergen to sell dried cod which brought Hanseatic merchants to the city. They established in a separate quarter called Bryggen (or Wharf) with its colorful facades. Needless to say that social life in Bergen is focused on the harbor and the promenade along the Bryggen to the Torget, a traditional open-air market in which it was not strange to find Spanish students selling fish, especially salmon and –evidently- dried cod.

Atardecer sobre el Soerfjord, Trengereid (N)

Atardecer sobre el Soerfjord, Trengereid (N)

Canon EOS 300D with Canon 18-55mm f:/3,5-5,6. Panorama merged in Photoshop CS5 from 5 handheld shots at f:/4,5 1/13s @34mm.

Despite the current mountain of RAWs waiting to be processed, sometimes I like to remember old trips looking the pictures. During the summer ’05 we crossed Southern Scandinavia. I had one of the first amateur dSLR with lower resolution than my current wife’s Nokia, had only the kit lens, used to take very few shots and in JPG, with very few pano series and I processed them with Canon Photostitch… The funny thing is that I thought that I was doing a great job. In a nutshell, I’ve been two days reprocessing those panos with Photoshop CS5 and this is the first sample…
