Majorette(s) :-)
j'adore wikipedia :-))

The coy look of the girl at the front, and the turned head of the girl behind her, two wonderful parts of this happy image :-)

wowoOOoow !!! what a tremendous feedback on that shot ! I see I'm not the only one totally under the charm of those pretty majorettes :-)).
On flickr, it is very common to have plenty of gorgeous babes when hitting the explore or popular pictures. I'm glad to achieve such a success without having to be lurid. A kind smile, a great light a pure white enhanced with touches of gold... here we go.
thank you everyone for your comments again !

500 views and 30 faves does not mean the picture is "perfect"... I have revised my picture, to give it more light, more "witheness". Her eyes are finally shining just the way I'm reminding this moment. I hope you'll like it even more as well.

Almost a year later and this pic still knocks my socks off. I was looking at the EXIF data and I was curious why you were shooting at ISO 500 and what lens were you using? I only ask as I am trying to hone skills as a photographer and this is type of work I would be proud of myself.
looking4poetry (38 months ago | reply)
ahah kravguy1 thank you so much... well I should have hidden that EXIF data on this picture because a good photographer would have turned down the ISO to 100/200 values as this particular shot was kind of a "standing portrait".
I usually use 400 to 800 iso when covering a protest for 2 reasons :
1. because you're always on the move, changing of angles and stuff and if got yourself in the shadow suddenly, you won't miss your picture because of an unexpected change of light condition
2. because you're sure to "freeze" the frame and avoid the shake-blur you can have when making some action shots. but here at 1/8000 it is a bit too much of security ^^!!
For the lense, I'm sure you want to know it because you would like to achieve a great bokeh. I'm using a "professional" L Canon lens : the 24-70 f2.8L. wide aperture such as 2.8 and wider, combined with the full frame censor of the 5D help to reach such great out of focus areas.
To summary : except for the choice of a 2.8 aperture, this picture is a series of big mistakes ;-)
