With over 50 titles to his name, Arturo Ripstein is possibly Mexico's most prestigious and legendary film director.

Arturo Ripstein was born in 1943 and began his career as assistant director (unbilled) of Luis Buñuel in "El Ángel Exterminador" (1962). His father, Alfredo Ripstein, Jr. produced his first film, a western written by Gabriel García Márquez and Carlos Fuentes titled "Tiempo de Morir" (1965). Ripstein filmography is very praised in Mexico and Europe. He is considered the best Mexican director alive. Many of his films are related with an unique subject: the loneliness of souls. So, his style reflects his main concerns. Ripstein's films are somber, slow and depressive.

DEUTSCHLAND / Berlin / 2009-2010

A deserted building on Berlin's Bachstraße 1-2, as seen from across the River Spree. The aluminum-covered building served as consistory* for the Evangelical Church Berlin-Brandemburg.
It was designed by architects Hans-Christian Müller and Georg Heinrichs and built between 1968 and 1971, according to information found on Wikipedia.
The building is on the edge of the famous Hansaviertel district.
Throughout November 2011, the building will be demolished.

In der Bachstraße 1/2 Ecke Altonaer Straße liegt das einzige Bürogebäude des Viertels, ein aluminiumverkleidetes Hochhaus mit vieleckigem Grundriss, das zwischen 1968 und 1971 nach Plänen von Georg Heinrichs und Hans Müller errichtet wurde. Bis 2000 war das Gebäude Sitz des Konsistoriums der Evangelischen Kirche Berlin-Brandenburg (West) sowie des Bischofs von Berlin-Brandenburg. Derzeit steht es leer (Stand: August 2008).
