fall comes to brooklyn

The fall colors outside my front door. Great place for a weekend getaway, also making tea and watching television.

moving day the first

moving day the first

At Evan's, on his last weekend living in D.C. before starting his new job and looking for a place in New York.

Well done, this place. Special goodbye to the deer of Rock Creek, of whom I only ever saw a little white tail from out the bathroom window once. Also to Joe the Centipede.

I'm pretty sure the Library of Congress is my favorite thing in D.C. Also, those salty oat cookies. But, the Library of Congress.

There was an unusually winterlike storm on this day, and inches of snow piled up. Coupled with the usual Metro weekend shenanigans, this got us stranded at Dupont Circle while taking the train into the city. Evan, his parents and I got out of the subway and walked back the two miles in the snow to get the car.

Actually, it was quite a good walk. And on the Library tour I finally got to see the Reading Room. Later that night Evan cooked us dinner, and I started packing up his apartment.

It was excellent.
