Tramping most of the Ruapehu Round-the-mountain track this weekend.
Well, when I say most, I mean we're skipping about 14 hours of it, and
doing about 15 hours over 3 days! :)
This is the historic Old Waihohonu hut. Its about an hour and a halfs
walk from the Desert Rd, and was well worth a quick visit.
More tramp photos to come over the next few days, just catching up on
my 365 for the moment.

The new-new hut is swanky as. Has a gorgeous view over to Ngaruhoe from the multiple decks (all of which have picnic tables) and the dining area.
Didnt stay there, we stayed at our tramping club lodge night one, and walked past the new hut. I will have photos of it online in a couple of days, I promise :)

(Not that we could see Ngaruhoe when we were there - the clouds were too low!)

I'll just take a break from climbing now and read Gone With the Wind. Really love this photograph with its deep tones and interesting background.
