Today I finally got a call I have been waiting 2 months for - one of the agencies I registered with had some work available if I wanted it.
I cant turn down such offers when I am available, so I said yes and spent the day reading a book at the reception desk of a small NGO and answering about 15 phone calls.
This flower arrangement was on the reception desk.
Full manual.
Edit: Crop, slight exposure adjustment.

So I suddenly realised that I hadn't taken a photo yet today as I wanted to go to bed. Somehow, I still managed to do a fully manual shot...

Poor Checkers has not been well the last few days. She started going off her food and then stopped drinking much either over the weekend, then on Monday she fell out the study window trying to scare away another cat and instead got stuck by the fur of her hind leg. The screams as she hung there were so scary.
Thankfully she wasn't injured, and when I took her to the vet this afternoon, he dosed her up, gave us some pills to continue giving her and indicated she should be right as rain in a couple of days. Thank goodness!
(Followup: She has completely recovered her apetite and seems to be fine now, which is fantastic!)

Today I headed in to town for an appointment, and figured I would try and do some longer exposure work in Woodward St while I was out.
Edits: darken, boost colour, convert to newspaper black & white with extra contrast.

Last night was Marks birthday dinner - 13 of us went to The General Practitioner, which I highly recommend!
Today we needed to waste some time before his parents flew home, so we went out to Makara to see the West Wind Recreation area and "hug a turbine", before making a quick detour to Brooklyn Hill to see the old turbine, which wasnt working because it was too windy.
Sure, the people look small in both these images, but they look markedly smaller against the Makara turbine - which has blades nearly as long as the tower of Brooklyn is tall! (note as well that in the left shot, the people are about 15m away from the bottom of the tower, while on the right they are right next to it)
