Grouseland

Miles and miles of bloody nothing! Well, heather and grass, mosty. However, it supports a surprisingly diverse population of birds (Grouse, Pheasant, partridge, barn owls, tawny owls, meadow pippit, with Summer visitors such as Curlew, Lapwing)

Grouse in Evening Glow

Just about the last light of the day - a pair were hiding out of the wind, picking away at the heather. It really was the last gasp of the sun, so I got out of the car and walked towwards them in order to get them to stand up a little - just before they flew off, of course!
