Taking inspiration fro 'Where the Wild Things Are', I translated Maurice Sendak's illustrations into stylised trees. I wanted to be sure the decoration's made an impact in the dining room at The Savile Club, while not obscuring the guests' view.

The frame was made in steel from a drawing, over which I bound birch branches (as this was a running theme, with the 'Lair' made from birch outside Claridges. We wired and painted over 1300 magnolia leaves to make the clusters at the end of the branches and we also gold-leafed glass apples and pears to attach to the branches.

In the background you can just about see the amazing Lana Del Rey rehearsing for her performance, which was an extra treat for us when we set up the tables.

Bespoke Candelabra

Bespoke Candelabra

Here (again from the Mulberry blog) is an image of the Candelabra I made for the fireplace in the entrance of the Savile Club.

This was my response to the mood board given me by the head of Visual Merchandising. I had a steel frame made, which I then spend a week of binding birch branches to the form to give it an organic look. Black candles added drama and moss helped suggest the monster's nest.
