Mexican Heroin 05
San Pedro de las Colonias in the state of Coahuila, Mexico. This is a small town not so far from the US border where there is an unusually high rate of heroin use. This is quite a rare occurence in Mexico, even though heroin is produced on a large scale to meet the huge demand in the United States, there is very little evidence of widespread addiction - except this place. Supposedly migrant workers coming back home already addicted to the drug after spending time on the other side of the border, influenced the adolescents of San Pedro and so began the craziness...

Hard to watch but must be seen. This is my first knowlege of high rate of heroin use by Mexicans. Typically, a NOB, not Mexican problem. The kid playing in the background made me shutter all the more.

otra foto muy fuerte, la historia no me la creo del todo, habiendo crecido en Torreón (no vivo ahí ahora) no me cuadra del todo, pero bueno, la foto es muy buena por el tema, felicidades

Ditto what qamar* says. The concentration in his face and the kid in the background make this so domestic, so heartbreaking.

i knew that the hight rate of addicted, was becasue San Padre is part of the path for drug dealers and they started paying with drug and cash to those who helped them with the traficc there.
