This was not a school building. It was the
Lee Plaza, an apartment hotel. The modern
building at right is Northwestern High. The
street is not Woodward; it is West Grand
Boulevard.
I remember the original school, and Mc
Micheal Middle School that was behind it
facing Grand River. They razed both of them
in 1980, along with the Red Wings original
arena Olympia Syadium that was a block east
of the middle school.
Good memory is a good thing.. It is sad
though that the downtown is rather in ruins
now days.. Well - this is a price we always
pay.. Do you think/hope that one day all you
remember will come back to the people of
Detroit?

BTW, I remember the days when not only the Lee was open, but Hudsons, Cadillac Hotel, and Michigan Central Station.
