Grey

One of the most photographed sights in Scotland - Eilean Donan castle on a day which was getting better as it progressed. But unfortunately for us it hadn't progressed quite far enough and we didn't have time to wait for better light as we were heading for our holiday accommodation on Skye.

I wasn't too disappointed since I knew we could return for a second bite later in the week as we staying on the southern part of Skye. What I didn't know was that it would be even greyer and wet with very poor visibility on our return!

Not as bad on black (+F11 for bigger)

I'm trying to do as many of the 100 and 112 Pictures shots as possible from images that I would normally take, as opposed to going out with the aim of getting a shot to fulfil a particular category. Obviously the shot of my rear end was an exception, I don't normally SP much, and certainly not from this angle! www.flickr.com/photos/7226518@N04/6717242243/in/photostream

Post mills in England are thought to date back to the 12th century. The oldest surviving UK mills date from the early 17th century. This example at Stevington, about 4 miles from where I live, was built in 1783.
The guy who thought of rotating the body so the sails could be manoeuvred into the best direction to catch the wind was a genius in my book. Great, though ancient, technology.
