I hit the open road from Cancun to Tulum with a few stops in between. This is a stretch of beach along Tulum beach - Boca Palai Rd.
The drive is fairly easy, once you get used to the 'topes', otherwise known as giant speed bumps that you can easily launch a car off of if you're not careful. You'll encounter these often in the middle of a highway. These are normally followed by a police/military checkpoint which are also slightly alarming. But once you get used to AK47s and dirty looks it's all good
