Sitting in Tapeats Creek at the confluence with the Colorado River. Just east of (above) Tapeats Rapids. There is no easy way to get to this place - you either hike from the North Rim of the Grand Canyon or raft for a few days.

MatthewPHX, Asiunka & Cams1 - thank you for the comments. We were sitting in the creek because the temperature was in the low 90's and this is how we stayed cool. I have lots more photos that I'm adding slowly so that all get viewed. I've got some great photos of oar rafts going through the Tapeats Rapids - stay tuned.

re: HDR I don't usually do more than one image of a subject for HDR purposes. The image you commented on was from a single frame and converted to HDR via the program Photomatix.

I like the low perspective, clear creek water and depth of this shot. Viewing your numerous shots of this area I'd say that you must know the canyon very well. I've only been to Toroweap and somewhere on the south rim when I was a young kid - back then I thought the meteor crater was more interesting!

Thanks. It was rather warm and there isn't much shade so we were soaking in the creek during the day. They release more water from the Glen Canyon Dam during the day to so by nightfall and during the night, this whole area goes under water.
I never tire of the Canyon. Everywhere is different. I've been to Bryce & Zion but for the drive from Scottsdale, I love the Canyon.

Ryan - thanks. The rocks and the beaches come & go as the water is released from the Glen Canyon Dam. About an hour after this photo, the rock was completely submerged.
