Wikipedia: "There is a specialized New Age tourist industry in Sedona, where the "Harmonic Convergence" was organized by Jose Arguelles in 1987. Some purport that "spiritual vortices" (local vernacular is "vortexes") are concentrated in the Sedona area." Here is local info: www.sedona-spiritual-vacations.com/sedona/Sedona_vortex_e...
We were approached by one of the ephemeral Vortexes. This energy Vortex was followed by a gravity surge which breached our shields.
Under one version of the story, after our Shields were breached, my hiking buddy - Morel the Archer - was smashed against the rocks. I had to purify quickly, find my power deep within, and use my Shamanic Ki and Qabbalah powers to rescue him. Under another version of the story - the one we told the medical insurance company - he tripped and fell and I used a first aid kit.
We hiked Pumphouse Wash from the Bridge on Highway 89 just below the switchbacks up to James Canyon.
Actually this is more canyoneering than hiking. There is no trail. You follow the creek by jumping the boulders. Then you get to pools. Some pools you can bypass, some pools you wade and some you swim. Did I mention that the water is COLD. We wore Keen canyoneering shoes and Hydrosocks - thin wetsuit socks. We carried 30' of webbing and needed it a couple of times - partly by choice. Here is my triplog on HikeArizona.com hikearizona.com/x.php?I=4&ZTN=92&UID=21152

So gorgeous, worth all the trouble I hope. And next time the evil Vortex breaches your shield, just call out 'allee allee auction free!'... i have no idea what it means but it's a powerful spell we used to use as children to make other children re-appear after they'd been abducted by aliens! ;o)
