Hermits Rest Arch Grand Canyon National Park South Rim
This is the often photographed entry to Hermits Rest at the far western end of the South Rim.
From Wikipedia
"Hermit's Rest is a structure built in 1914 at the western end of
Hermit Road, at the south rim of the Grand Canyon in Arizona, United
States. The main structure of Hermit's Rest was designed by southwest
architect Mary Colter. Hermit's Rest is the westernmost stop on the
south rim and now contains a snack bar and gift shop.
It was one of four Mary Jane Colter Buildings that, as a set, was added to the National Register of Historic Places and declared to be a National Historic Landmark in 1987.
The Hermit Trail, a hiking trail that extends to the Colorado River, begins about ¼ mile beyond the shuttle bus stop at Hermit's Rest. Hermit's Rest also represents the western terminus of the Rim Trail.
Some of the facilities at Hermit's Rest and parking at the Hermit trailhead may be restricted due to ongoing construction "

Hi, I'm an admin for a group called Architect: Mary Elizabeth Jane Colter, and we'd love to have this added to the group!
