The great thing living near the Black Forest
is having snow all winter -- if you choose
to. In the plains there are usually only a
few days with snow. Even though I love winter
(and snow in general) and already have been
busy photographing the winterly looking Black
Forest this week, I want to share one photo
from my archives with you. Usually after
taking photos I quickly rate them: One star
means pretty good (with the potential for
publication here at Flickr), two stars is
stellar -- and no star means never to be
looked at again. ;-)
While browsing through my archives some time
ago, I noticed that this photo got zero stars
from me. Maybe I dismissed it initially
because I very quickly composed this shot
(which I saw from the street while driving to
another location) or because I had already
photographed quite a lot of winterly scenes
last season (it is from March), but now I
have grown to like it a lot. For me it
embodies the perfect winter day: Everything
is clad in white and the sun is shining from
a deep blue and cold sky. I'm already looking
forward to more of these days this winter
season... And if it's too could outside, I
will definitely be looking at my archives
again. ;-)

klasse landschaft! bei solchen bildern muss
ich erst immer genau hinsehen, nicht dass ich
mich dann neidisch zu dem schnee äüßere und
es sich dann eigentich nur um infrarot
fotografie handelt :P
sehr schön auf jeden fall!

this is my first winter picture, so i am
still here looking at it...the tree alone is
so magnificent, then there is the sky and the
pristine untouched snow...i love this one

immer geschmackssache.

Its gorgeous, perfectly composed and
wonderful and crisp looking. We're lucky to
get any snow, its just cold and wet most of
the winter, very boring. I'll look forward
to more of your winter shots.

Ich hab' doch eben gerade deine
Winterschauinslandbäume bewindert, äääh
bewundert.... un' nun isses schon wieder so
weit.
So weit, so gut. Jedenfalls schön
fotografiert, dezent das Blau manipuliert.
Und im Hintergrund leuchtet der Feldberg mit
Macht.
Gut gemacht!

I love this and don't care at all about all
the white mainly because I love the shadows
and the super cold feel this has. Brrrrr.

dont you love those hidden images that you
forgot to star or overlooked for one reason
or another lol - the colour of the tree from
the thumbnail made me think for a second that
this was IR!

Wirklich traumhaft schön. So richtig weißen
Winter vermisse ich schon sehr. Stattdessen
hat man nur Regen..das ist der Deutsche
Winter:(
Ein ganz tolles Bild, perfekt komponiert.
