Planet Crimson

Planet Crimson

This is probably my favorite image so far from this trip. Sean Bagshaw and I spent a couple mornings in this area. The light was beautiful as it bathed the landscape. People may not believe me when I tell them there has been no saturation added, in fact I had to tone down the reds, because they were too intense after I added some contrast.

I am back in production on my advanced multiple exposure blending, advanced selection, and tonality control video, it's my top priority right now and I realistically expect to be done by the end of this month. Sorry for those who have been waiting. I'll announce it here when it's available for sale. This is 2 exposures blended with said techniques.

Castle Bryce

Castle Bryce

Taken in the fading evening light while hiking one of the long loops inside Bryce Canyon. I highly encourage anyone who has the opportunity to do the full long loop, it's spectacular. I always see the structure of the hoodoos in bryce as similar to castles. I love the way they seem to grow out of the hillsides.

Looking Back in Time

Looking Back in Time

This is such a special place. Sean Bagshaw and I found this spot while exploring and both photographed it during what Sean calls salmon light, the twilight about 10 minutes after the sun went down. You really have the sense that you are looking into the past through geologic history. Like Coyote Buttes, this area is made of petrified sand dunes. Erosion exposes these amazing layers.
