A preserved German Tiger 1 tank from World War 2. This is the most complete, and only operational, Tiger 1 tank left in the world. Bovington Tank Museum, Dorset.
It was captured in Tunisia in April 1943 after a fight in which it had knocked out two allied Churchill tanks but was damaged by a third whose shot had damaged and jammed the turret mechanism. The German crew abandoned it and it was recovered the next day and repaired using parts from other tanks. Subsequently, it was sent to England for evaluation.
