Cookie, Anyone
Chocolate Chip Cookies
Ingredients:
2-1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup butter, softened
1/4 cup shortening
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups semisweet chocolate chips (12oz.)
1. Preheat oven to 375º F
2. In a large bowl, combine flour,
baking soda and salt; set aside.
In another bowl, beat butter and
shortening at medium speed
until well-blended and fluffy;
gradually add sugar and brown
sugar, beat well. Add eggs and
vanilla, beat well. Add flour
mixture to butter mixture, mix
well. Stir in chocolate chips.
3. Drop dough by heaping teaspoons
about 2 inches apart on baking
sheet. Bake 9 to 11 minutes. Cool
slightly on baking sheet; cool
completely on wire rack.
The blue mat that the cookies are on is silicon, I'm testing it out for the Cooking Club of America, then I let them know what I think. I think it's very cool and worth checking out. No need for a spatula to remove the cookies and the mat can withstand up to 500º. You can also freeze them and then take them straight to the oven. Fold them up for great storage, they never lose their shape. A good investment!

mmmmm my favorite cookies !
I use the Silpat silicon mat. I swear by it..! The people at Sur La Table cooking store told me that cookies would never burn on them (ha, I wonder if that is true)

Panda and I had dinner, but we didn't have dessert. These would do nicely. They look perfectly done, and tasty too.
I don't have the mats yet, but I use the silicon cake, bread, and muffin pans. The pot holders are nice, easy-care, too.
