Kit - I really love this composition. The colors just pop off of the black, and the lighting from teh side does a nice job of lighting both the sticks as well as giving some sheen to the candy.
It's borderline, I think, on the theme... but definitely a nice shot.
I was wracking my brain to come up with something really colorful for the sugar theme, and since lollipops are pretty much pure sugar with a little food coloring, I thought it fit pretty well :-)
I should have taken a picture of the setup for this -- it was labor-intensive! I taped the bottom of the lollipop sticks to the tops of some pens that I had in my office. Since the pens were longer, I was able to stab them into a jar of uncooked rice that I keep around for projects like this. Then I was able to move them around in the rice to the exact positions that I wanted.
