NYC - William and Helen Ziegler, Jr. House

The William and Helen Ziegler, Jr. House, at 116-118 East 55th Street, was designed from 1926-27 by William L. Bottomley. This unusually wide red-brick neo-Georgian residence, with its three-bay front is beautifully detailed featuring Flemish bond brickwork with burnt leaders, paneled wood shutters, and a steeply pitched slate roof. Following Ziegler's death in 1968, it was converted to offices. It was purchased 2001 by the Teachers Insurance and Annuity Association.

The William and Helen Ziegler, Jr. House was designated a landmark by the New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission in 2001.
