Himalayas

Himalayas

Another shot near Pangong Tso. Few patches of green pasture where few horses grace and with a beautiful backdrop of typical Himalayan ranges.

The Makgadikgadi

The Makgadikgadi

The Makgadikgadi Pan is a large salt pan in the middle of the dry savanna of northeastern Botswana. It is one of the largest salt flats in the world. The pan is all that remains of the formerly enormous Lake Makgadikgadi, which once covered an area larger than Switzerland, but dried up several thousand years ago.

Tourists are not permitted to drive through the pans, but one can drive around the banks of this dried lake. This picture of the great Baobab tree was shot somewhere over the banks of the pan. Its quiet an awesome and a very strange landscape.
