SB-600 behind and above the basketball at 1/4 power through a sheet of paper with the "4" cutout. The ball is lit with the spill over the paper. A reflector in front of the ball lit the front bottom. I placed the ball on a shot glass which can be seen in the setup photo with notes

Try geling your mirror, just lay it over the mirror and bang you have colored light (just have to watch for spill)
