Enlightenment Room, British Museum by Mendhak [민다ᄏ].

The British Museum's Enlightenment Room is a display dedicated to the age of Enlightenment. Separated into the various arts and sciences, there are books, fossils and statues on display, along with examples of earthenware and metalwork, which try to explain how pieces were viewed and collected at the time.

There are many shelves of old leather-bound books covering topics from the obscure (insect legs) to the popular (Shakespeare).

It also has two fire extinguishers. This fact alone makes it the most awesome room in the world.

I love this..it has a feel as if you took this through glass? Or is it just the wonderful reflection of all that bouncing light? Love museums...I'm so coming to England..let me know when the pound is down will ya.

Awesome HDR work, the detail and tones are splendid. Agree with Sharona, it does feel like I'm looking thru glass.. love the inclusion of the lone chair, adds an urbex feel to it.

It's a free museum! You can take whatever you want in there. But I didn't take a tripod. I used one of the display cases and luckily nobody saw me doing it. I did mean to crop the case out, but now you've seen it :( :(

Museums here are pretty great - lots of diffused lighting so it's very good for this kind of a thing. Thanks all y'all.
