Qahtani Tihami (Lowlander) Wadi Lajm, southern Saudi Arabia, August 2004

I really don't think he liked me...! no only kidding...

A real 'tihami' (lowlander) Qahtani ( ancient Arabic tribe) from Farshah, one of the wildest places in Southern Saudi Arabia

these people have been there herding goats & sheep travelling from sharp rocky valley to valley following the rainfall from the highlands, literally from the beginning of human history.. his presence was very much like ancient rock

As most of the tribes in the Asir (Highlands) & Tihama they wear tradtional fragrant herbs around their heads to

1) be perfumed for the wive(s)

2) keep insects away

3) be handsome

I'll post more of him slaughtering a goat! that was lunch that bonny day out..Godwilling
