Balaclava Bay

Balaclava Bay

It wasn't until we got to Portland on Saturday, that I remembered that the sailing for this year's Olympics will be held there. There is a lot of building activity and even a new bypass.

As you can see the weather was glorious with brilliant blue skies. Far cry from that today. As I drove into work this morning it was zero degrees and it was trying to snow. Too wet to settle though, thank goodness.

If you cast your eyes over to the coastline on the far right of the picture you will see a note showing where we stayed last weekend.

Oh and also we were standing not that far away from the local prison when I took this which is built on the highest point of Portland

Three Little Piggies

Three Little Piggies

We saw these sweet little piglets yesterday at the animal farm we visited. They are a cross between Kune Kune and Pot Belly Vietnamese. We were allowed to get into the pens and fields with most of the animals so we were able to get quite close to them.

Nearly all the animals are rescues

Crazy Alpacas

Went to Portland Bill today and visited a strange little place full of animals. The lady that owned it showed us around and she let us go in the pens with a few of the animals. We met some Alpacas who just stood and stared at us. However later when we left the place and went for a walk, we ended up at the back of their pens. As we were walking by, they "klcked off". Sorry the quality is not good - lots of wind on the top of the cliffs, but listen closely and you will hear the squeals they make.

No Bad Dogs - Just Bad Owners

No Bad Dogs - Just Bad Owners

Woke up to find Milu snuggled up on the bed this morning. Can only mean one thing..........yes the cold weather has arrived back. Apparently the forecast is that the temperatures are going to really drop here in the UK. Oh dear all those daffodils who have already poked their heads up are in for a shock.

Total blue skies forecast for Saturday so I am going to make the most of it and get out and about.

Happy Furry Friday everyone

Wishing you all a cosy and snug weekend

You Are Fooling No-One:-)

You Are Fooling No-One:-)

You will find this at Stourhead Gardens. There is also a tree with beetles and insects painted on it. Obviously for the entertainment of children visiting.

I despaired as an excited child ran towards it shouting "look daddy, look, there's an owl". To which daddy replied " mmmm not quite symmetrical, is it?" Just makes you wonder doesn't it?

Oh and I learnt something from the radio this morning. Owls do not go twit twoo. Females make the 'twit" sound and it's the males who make the 'twoo' call. Now don't ever say that you don't learn things on Flickr:-)
