...I packed my suitcase, some personal belongings and left Germany to move to the US.
I remember, the beginning was very tough, but you fight, you survive and you get stronger.
Moving to Detroit made me who I am today.

Sometimes I wonder if this move has influenced my photography, especially for my self-portrait project in the forgotten places. The feelings of vulnerability, loneliness and isolation seemed to have been amplified by moving to Detroit...
