Nature photography is all about being in the right spot at the right time. Having the right camera gear can sometimes help, but more importantly you just got to be there for those magical moments with a camera in hand. As some of you know this takes quite a bit of dedication, I mean you need to be out there during the hours when most others are either still in bed or enjoying a meal, but heck I couldn't think of anything better. Yes there will be disappointment, but sometime you get surprised. Take this morning for example, I was up at 3am to make my way to the Sunshine Coast and when I left there wasn't a cloud in the sky but once we got there the clouds where magical and the sunrise was spectacular.

Protog

Protog

You may be wondering what that title means? You’ve heard of photog right (a.k.a photographer), and profile (side on shot), well I basically joined the words together and came up with Protog. Anyways, moving on, this shot was taken from Mt Coot-tha overlooking Brisbane, the capital of Queensland. After recent bush fires there has been allot of smoke creating magnificent sunrises and sunset. There was a bunch of photogs up there thinking the same as me, so I thought I would try something different and shoot them instead of the city and I really liked how it came out. To me this portrays a photographer, you know, up early, talking about the scene, discussing techniques and camera gear, I am sure most of you can relate to this?

Apple a Day

Apple a Day

They say an apple a day will keep the doctor away. I guess this has something to do with eating healthy.

I took this photo specifically for the group Camera Skills.

Smile

Smile

An Australian Green Tree Frog that somehow made it's way into my kitchen. Judging by the facial expression I am guessing he found what he was looking for. The awesome reflection was cause by the tiles on the floor, which are porcelain if you are curious.

Flowers

Flowers

A bunch of flowers can take on many meanings and are often chosen as a gift for their beauty and fragrance which can trigger happy emotions, making the recipient feel warm and loved. The freshness and wild nature of flowers, whether it is a carefully chosen bouquet or just a stem, often convey an emotion indescribable with words. Research has shown that 92% of women can remember the last time they received flowers, and 97% of people can recall the last time they gave flowers, so weather you are the giver or receiver, it would appear that the gift of flowers is like no other, and it is sure to create lasting memories.

As we all know, like anything living, flowers eventually die, but what I tried to capture here is that the memories and the emotions associated with the gift live on forever. I hope you can relate to the image and it brings you some joy.
