thinking pictures

I hate the colour of my kitchen wall, but I usually ignore it and look at what's on the wall.

Fantastic shot. For all the crazy colours the previous owner left you, you have truly made it all work for the best.

Betty what works in your almost constant bright Arizona light, to give an adobe type of natural warmth, does not work so well in wet grey BC. Even today, when we have Spring sunshine, it soaks up all the light. Not only did they paint the South facing kitchen and play room this colour, but also three North facing badly lit bedrooms, a bathroom, a shower room, the room we use as a music room and the laundry room. They had a thing for beige. A friend here has painted her living room a similar, but somehow much nicer shade. It might look bad to me because it's such a cheap paint, every time I wipe the walls, it comes off on the cloth. Oh and the kitchen floor used to co-ordinate too. Anyhow Lol thinks that I should just cover the walls right down to the floor in B&W pix. She has great ideas, but hasn't really thought through the repercussions of sweeping up the glass from broken frames every day. Edit to add I forgot that the Kitchen cupboards used to be a yellowy beige wood too. I imagine those people always wore chinos.

Alright rant over, can we still be friends?

As for colors, I am easy to please. However, how many people have a chalkboard for the kids to use in the kitchen? That is a great idea.

Now, I have been trying to decipher the drawing. My first thought was an elephant’s head, but then the stuff in the middle doesn’t make sense. So, maybe, a foot in a frying pan. After all, it is a kitchen, right?

She did lots of drawings last night and was telling Grace and I about them as she did them, but Grace was simultaneously drawing on apaper and telling Alice and I so forgive me if I'm a bit confused but I think this one was the magnifying glass looking down on a man's head upside down... but I can't figure out what the four little circles are.

sometimes its important to give spaces where let creativity grow!

nevermind the color, its nice and give nice contrast to the portraits!

This is a wonderful picture. The paint color looks great for the picture -- it sets your daughter off so well, although your observation about how colors look depending on the locality is very perceptive. We visit Phoenix frequently and colors that look great there would look gaudy almost any other place in the US (or Canada).

I love the fact that you have a blackboard. I've found that the more creative people I know have one in their homes.
