Sunny at My Home

A crop of the larger image of a pot of straw flowers I'm growing at my home. Got this plant from a Cave Creek nursery for desert plants. Daily, they take a long time to open, but are best from about 10 am to 3 pm. Each flower is about 1 1/2" in diameter and the stems shoot the blooms up about 18" from the soil.

@jaki good - by your icon, I see you like flowers, and yellow ones too, by golly! Thanks, both of you for the comments! It always really brightens my days to go out often and stare at these beauties at my home. Often the plants are those that were here when I moved into this new rented home, but I am trying to bring my own touches. Like bringing in this flowering plant I found at a local nursery.

To parahprase a terse message sent back to headquarters by a dive-bomber pilot in one of the Pacific battles in World War II: "Sighted macro, faved same."

@Garry: if a bee comes in for a landing here, would they signal "Sighted nectar, savored same"? hahaha

  14. gwilmore (76 months ago | reply)

Actually, that is much closer to the pilot's original message, which was "Sighted sub, sank same!"

Congrats on making Interestingness! I had already faved this, of course, so I had a role in helping you get there. You owe me one! :-)
