The daylight hours have been getting shorter since summer, and now we're upon winter solstice, our shortest day of the year. The daylight hours seem especially short here today, since another winter storm has blown in from the Pacific, giving us nothing but dense cloud cover and pouring rain.
The nice thing, however, is that after today, the days become gradually longer, and the sun higher and brighter in the sky. Joy!
Happy winter solstice, everyone!
