07/02/11- (TIME) - Martinsville, VA - Klan leaders Amanda and Chris Barker react as they are presented with a plaque as a thank you from the leadership of the Klan for dedicated service to the group in Martinsville, Va. on July 2, 2011.

Klan members set ablaze a 12 foot cross on Klan property the evening of May 28, 2011. Cross burning is symbolic of the christian belief in the "light of Christ" and is used to reinforce their belief in christianity as a religion created exclusively for whites.
