The rhythmic, alternate rise and fall of the surface (or water level)
of the ocean, and of bodies of water connected with the ocean such as
estuaries and gulfs, occur twice a day for most of the Earth, because
of the gravitational attraction of the moon and (to a lesser extent)
the sun. This is because the gravitational attraction is felt acting
unequally on different parts of the rotating Earth.

Gorgeaous photo. The light is dispersed well and the contrast, focus and raming is great. Nice shot. Very interesting subject as well. The rolling surf is always a pretty sight.
